We take your dog on an adventure in a nearby park!
These walks are flexible. We will try to stay within a certain time range, but will occasionally go under or over.
The start and stop time for each walk will be recorded in a spreadsheet you will have access to, and the total cost will be calculated for each walk based on your hourly rate.
The “start” time is when we enter your home to get your dog(s) for the walk.
The “stop” time is when we leave your home after the walk is finished.
Because travel time to and from the park is included in the service time, we try to stick to local parks, ideally a 5-10 minute drive.
We will use your leash and collar or harness for the walk.
Our recommendation is a harness with a Y-shaped front, side straps that go above (not across) the shoulder blades, and a D ring on the back for the leash.
This is usually the most comfortable walking gear for dogs.
Our second best recommendation is a wide, flat collar (width distributes pressure more evenly).
However, we will use whatever you have.
We carry training treats with us for positive reinforcement and helping dogs cope with potential triggers.
Please let us know of any food allergies or sensitivities your dog(s) have!
If you would rather we use your treats (kibble works too), we are happy to. Please supply a small amount per dog for each walk.
In warm weather, we bring fresh cold water in an insulated bottle with a collapsible water bowl to offer water breaks to your dog throughout our walk.
We do not allow dogs we are walking to come into contact with other dogs or children whenever we can avoid it, for safety reasons.
After we return to your home, we will replenish your dog’s water bowl with clean water if needed and send you a summary with 3-6 photos from the walk via text message.
Walk length can be shortened and the excess time within your booking will be replaced with playtime - before or after the walk.
For high-energy dogs, we will play for 5-10 minutes to burn off excitement before the walk, then walk for the remainder of the booking.
Cars were unfortunately not made with the safety of our pets in mind, so they are not optimized for their survival during a collision.
To keep your pets as safe as possible, we take the following safety measures:
1) We drive on roads with lower speed limits whenever possible, and avoid roads with speed limits of 50mph or higher.
2) We use a crash-tested harness for each dog with a bungee tether to keep them restrained in the event of a crash.
3) We will never exceed the posted speed limit or drive with distractions while your precious pet(s) are in our car!
Even with these precautions in place, please be aware that there is always a risk when transporting pets via automobile.
We will not drive your pet anywhere without your consent, except in the case of an emergency!
Note for all services:
Prior to our your first service with us, we will arrange a Meet & Greet for us to get to know each other and go over any questions or concerns. This is a free 15-30 minute visit.
